Recycling NJ
This site aims to promote waste reduction and recycling approaches in the state of New Jersey. We provide information for New Jersey residents with the aim of helping to reduce the amount of trash that we all generate.
If you are looking at this website you must already believe that it is the important to do your bit to protect the environment and to reduce the amount of the earth's resources you consume. The purpose of this website is not to persuade you that recycling is a good thing to do. You already know that. Our aim is to disseminate information that makes it easier for you to find ways of reducing the amount you dispose of in your trash.
We hope to ...
- provide practical and straight forward advice for how to reduce the amount of waste your household produces, with simple tips for waste reduction or reuse that do not require dramatic changes in lifestyle.
- give suggestions for alternative ways for reusing some of the items you might otherwise discard.
- provide links to your local town and county recycling websites, where you can find information about what can be placed in your curbside recycling containers or taken to the municipal recycling center in your community.
- provide information about additional recycling options that are not available through your local authority, but have been created by private businesses and charity groups, for the collection or redistribution of specific waste items, often at little or no expense to you.
Use the menu bar above to navigate around the website.
- "Reducing Waste" gives simple ideas for reducing the amount of waste your household generates in the first place by replacing disposable items with reusable or longer lasting alternatives. These ideas will also save you considerable amounts of money over the long term.
- "What Can I Recycle?" provides links to recycling pages for a large array of different items from aluminum foil to yogurt pots.
- "NJ County Recycling Sites" has links to the recycling and hazardous waste pages run by each New Jersey county.
